Janie is one of Texas’ country sweetheart songstress’! A Texas native she has been dubbed with the slogan “Country music with attitude” and she wears it well. Balderas was a preachers daughter and limited to what genre of music she could listen to growing up but she always found a way to keep her country soul alive. Her influences include Dwight Yoakum, Johnny Cash, Kacey Musgraves and Miranda Lambert keeping it real. “I love the sound of a fiddle and steel guitar and then I love to hear the electric guitar just rock it out, it’s music to my ears.” says Janie. Born and raised in Austin, Texas she has always been involved in music from a young girl singing hymnals at church to volunteering at SXSW Music, benefits and other festivals. Her original songs are real and inspired by life experiences or stories unheard. The philanthropy part of her loves to give back in music by playing or helping out with different causes. Releasing her first single “Sweet Memories” in 2013 and produced by Omar Vallejo she is anxious to get back in the studio and start recording more of her original tunes.
